After Pure Harmony
Our second Pure Yoga retreat on Koh Samui lived up to its name, Harmony. The crew hailed from all over the region and beyond, including Singapore, Taipei, Korea, California, and Hong Kong. Each day we woke to the call of the rooster and flowed through a full practice in the open air shala overlooking the beautiful gulf of Thailand. However, the highlight of the morning seemed to be the relaxing hours enjoying the supreme Kamalaya organic breakfast spread, with endless views of the tranquil oceanfront.
Our down time was spent lazing about the pool, kayaking around the shores and being sent into new states of nirvana from the blissful therapies offered at the Kamalaya wellness centre. Patrick and Stephen taught a wide spectrum of yoga postures, breathing practices and meditations that were welcomed by the open minded and truly inspired yogis. At the end of our last practice, Stephen's evening class took on a serene energy that was divinely aligned with our most spectacular sunset. Julia serenaded everyone with her beautiful voice singing traditional chants and mantras leaving us wanting more each night.
Further highlights were the outrageously funny partner yoga session on the beach at sunset, Timmy's screaming handstand, and the full moon rise on our last night, and the full moon set on our last morning. We've already started plotting our return to our new favourite isle.
