|Desirée delights in teaching others what she has learnt about overcoming challenges and healing body, mind and heart through the practice of yoga. One of her strengths as a teacher is her "out of the box" thinking. Combine that with a positive attitude and you get an imagination that continually creates new ways of doing familiar things. Most surprising about her teaching is her ability to tap into the student's vulnerable spaces to access these wonderful poses. Her unique ability to draw out the bright and shining light from within every student, no matter what level of yoga experience, is her gift to the world. Join us for a weekend of new insight, thoughtful work and joyful laughter with this disarmingly authentic teacher!|
Session 1: Friday, 23 August 6:00pm - 8:30pm
How Yoga Empowers Us: Forward Bends, Twists, Meditation and Pranayama
The practices of yoga and meditation are designed to help us manage our minds. When we can guide our troubling thoughts and feelings back into the present moment, we can learn to look at them with genuine inquiry and from that place, make choices that help us feel better and more empowered.
Session 2: Saturday, 24 August 10:00am - 12:30pm
Dream, Discover and Design: All Kinds of Backbends to Inspire You
Everyone is capable of creating from their soul. Backbends bring us a feeling of freedom and connectedness that opens our mind and heart to creativity from within.
Session 3: Saturday, 24 August 2:30pm - 5:00pm
One Legged Poses For Balance and Strength
With our busy lives, we all, at times, find ourselves out of balance in one way or another. This creative sequence will help you tap into your inner strength and wholeness, whether you are one leg or two.
Session 4: Sunday, 25 August 10:00am - 12:30pm
Every Which Way: Creative Pathways to Joy
A well rounded practice of assorted yoga poses to help you develop a body that can go this way and that way, effortlessly. Find out what it takes to smooth out your psoas and clear your energy.
Session 5: Sunday, 25 August 2:30pm - 5:00pm
Therapy for the back, hips, knees, neck, shoulders and wrists
If you have chronic pain for any reason, yoga poses can heal and help relieve your suffering. Simple biomechanical principles will be discussed and practised that will empower you to strengthen your weak areas and open your tight ones. All levels, including beginners and teachers are most welcome.
Session 6: Monday, 26 August 7:00pm - 9:00pm
The One Minute Pose Challenge
The power of staying, committing and surrendering can be learnt by simply holding your poses a little longer. Take the challenge and see for yourself how slow yoga calms the mind.
Session 7: Tuesday, 27 August 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Core Strength Creativity: Standing Poses and Arm Balances
You can build the strength you need for arm balances in your standing poses. Learn some new tricks that can make your practice more powerful and helpful.
Session 8: Wednesday, 28 August 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Strengthen Your Neck and Shoulders with Backbends and Inversions
With all of our technology today, many of us are having neck, shoulder and wrist issues. Backbends, headstand and shoulderstand can really help. With proper alignment, you can clear out excess tension and build better posture. Bring an extra yoga blanket or two if you have them.

|About Desirée Rumbaugh|
|Desirée Rumbaugh teaches from the experience of more than two decades of practice. As a full-time teacher, Desirée travels the world offering workshops, which are innovative and transformative, challenging and compassionate. She has a well-earned reputation for deepening the newest to the most seasoned practices, through humour balanced with a quest for authenticity.|
September 2007 marked the release of her first DVD entitled Yoga to the Rescue, which is specially designed for those who have avoided yoga because of a lack of flexibility, low fitness level or chronic pain. Her newest DVD's entitled Yoga to the Rescue for Back Pain and Yoga to the Rescue for the Neck and Shoulders were released in January 2008 with wide acclaim.
