Universal® Yoga Weekend Immersion Series: “Sacred Offering” with Will Lau & Carrie Pun
Mandala I: Absolute Beginners - 6 & 7 October, Mandala II: Sacred Offering - 20 & 21 October, Mandala III: Kundalini-Rising - 17 & 18 November

| About the Workshop |
|---|
Sacred Offering is a 3-part series of Weekend Workshops aimed at all levels of yoga practitioners, whether new or wishing to deepen their practice in Universal® Yoga. This unique yoga system created by one of today's most influential Yoga Masters, Andrey Lappa of Ukraine, is renowned as the most complete modern-day yoga system. Led by Pure Yoga's Universal Yoga Instructors Will Lau and Carrie Pun, these three weekend immersions are designed to be taken as a complete series for a well-balanced yogic experience for today's yogi & yogini. But each weekend workshop can also be taken as a stand-alone unique experience.
Traditionally, the yogi relies on the blessing of the Guru to attain "enlightenment", that which is Yoga. Taking refuge under their guidance, the yogi seeks the master's acceptance as a lifelong devotee. In order for the master to take care and nurture the devotee, one's most valuable belongings (very often jewellery) have to be offered to the master as a genuine gesture of commitment and devotion. In return, the master will take care of the student for their whole life. If the students are well-off, jewels are offered on gold or silver plates. If they are poor, they will find a nice round piece of stone from the riverbed and place atop of it whatever valuable things they have to offer.
In Tantric Yoga terminology, "Mandala" is the perfect symbol that contains all there is inside the Universe. Used as a ritual offering, the devotee's intention is to renounce all the treasures of the whole universe as well as their own merits. The Mandala becomes the ultimate offering to the divine, which is embodied inside their master or "Guru".
The "Mandala Yoga" practice is created by world-renowned Yoga Genius Andrey Lappa in his UNIVERSAL® YOGA system. In it, the practitioner uses his body, mind and speech to create the Mandala in 3-Dimentional Space. It is a poetic practice that activates all 7-koshas (layers) of the human body. Requiring fluidity in movements in all directions of mobility, the practitioner weaves their awareness and attention control with asana, vinyasa, pranayama, visualisation, mantra recitation, and ultimately deep shavasana and meditation. It is a complete practice that guarantees the yogi a heightened state of awareness. |

About Will Lau
In January 2010, Will became the first Advance Certified Jivamukti Yoga Teacher in the East Asia Region. Since graduating from the 350+-hr Jivamukti Yoga teacher training at the Omega Institute in New York in 2007, Will has been passionately serving all yogis in Hong Kong and across Asia.
As a practising Buddhist, Will has intense desire to serve all devotees that tread the path toward enlightenment. Ahimsa (non-violence) is Will's prime practice, deeply inspired by the relentless stance of spiritual and political activism that is adopted by Sharon Gannon and David Life. The compassionate heart and intense loving kindness towards all beings that flow from his gurus' hearts inspires Will to seek equality, equanimity and oneness of being in all his practices.
Will is a true believer in Karma Yoga. With tremendous trust and generous support from Pure Yoga, Will and the Pure management team & teachers have been enriching many lives in Hong Kong through donation events, food drives and toy drives for various non-profit charity organisations - demonstrating the true essence of yoga-off-the-mat.
Routinely invited to teach Jivamukti Yoga workshops and teacher trainings overseas in New York, Japan and Korea, Will was the principal assistant & translator for David Life and Sharon Gannon at the Asia Yoga Conference in 2007 and 2009, as well as assistant for his two gurus' tours in Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan in 2008 and 2009. Will is set to be one of 4 mentors in the upcoming Jivamukti Yoga Teacher Training 2010 in New York.
Paying deep reverence to all holy teachers who have inspired him so much, Will is humbly grateful to Davidji & Sharonji, Geshe Michael Roach, Lama Christie McNally, Andrey Lappa, Kristina Pao Cheng, Jessica Kung, Patrick Creelman, Stephen Thomas, Joakim Olin, DL, Icy Lee, Maggie Tan, HHK, Dharma Mittra, DPR, & Paveena Atipatha.
Will currently teaches at Pure Yoga in Hong Kong. His classes are filled with wisdom and fun. Vigorous in his style, tender in his words - Will offers a class that pushes students to their limits, freeing their hearts and ultimately stilling their minds.
About Carrie Pun
Like most people that live in this metropolitan city, Carrie was always running short of time working in the fashion and accessories industry, and the pressure seemed never-ending. In 2006, a friend 'dragged' her to a yoga class. As with some practitioners, it started as a sweat routine. Then slowly but surely, subtle changes became apparent both mentally and spiritually.
Carrie delved deeper into Yoga with a daily practice. Physically it allowed stress release but beyond that, it took her into a blissful, peaceful realm. It wasn't long before she quit her job to achieve Yoga teacher qualification and share her experience with others.
Through the exploration of the science of Yoga, she realised the intricate connections with the self and the Self. "Yoga allows conscious awareness of the planet that I share with all sentient beings. It allows for a mutual understanding about the interconnectedness of all things."
Carrie is forever grateful to the gurus who have enlightened her along the Yoga path. "Namaste to Andrey Lappa, David Life & Sharon Gannon, for they tirelessly teach wisdom, instil compassion, provide so much, and have faith in me."
