Maurice
|
Originally from Santa Monica, California, Maurice designed men's clothing for 15 years in New York and in Southern California. Fortunately he was directed by his elite fitness trainer to give yoga a try to relieve his issues with major anxiety caused from the stress of his professional life.
Maurice considers himself truly blessed to have studied with Saul David Raye in Santa Monica and Yogi Vishvketu in Rishikesh, India. Inspired by these two great souls, he took his first steps to change his life. Maurice became enthralled with the philosophy of yoga as a way of living and has been practising since 1997. He opened his mind and with his teachers' guidance, found a practice that was suitable to his temperament. This way of practising allowed Maurice to find the courage and clarity to create a lifestyle more suitable to his dreams and desires.
Maurice has completed training in and continues to be a student of Thai Yoga Therapy (Thai massage), Ayurveda (the science of Indian medicine), Hatha Yoga (the yoga of sun and moon) and Vinyasa Flow Yoga (a yoga of tempo and rhythm interconnected by the breath). All four modalities he incorporates into his teaching. Maurice hopes to create a space of exploration and potential transformation for the student in each class.
