Deepen your personal Ashtanga practice and allow that knowledge to expand your ability to teach asana and vinyasa. Topics include: Physical Alignment, Internal Energetic Alignment, Internal Mental Alignment, Modifications, Injury Awareness, Vinyasa.

Teaching Methodology
Learn correct, safe and efficient methods of yoga postures. Then use this knowledge to give the student the verbal and hands-on adjustments needed with confidence and precision. Topics include: Private instruction, Posture sequencing for different levels of students, Classroom dynamics, Finding your voice as a teacher.

Yogic Lifestyle
What are the elements that make a teacher an example and an inspiration? What are the correct behaviours that create a yogic environment - on and off the mat?

Discover how to be a better student. Learn about nutrition and yoga, yoga and ecology, karma yoga and the business of yoga to inspire your future as a yoga teacher.

Anatomy
Find out the function of muscles, bones and connective tissue in relation to the practice. Gain experience in working with your body’s energy - Chakras, Vayus, Koshas, Nadis. Learn the physical, emotional, mental and energetic benefits of postures and sequencing.

Global Yoga Philosophy
East Asian Yogic Thought: We will study gems of natural wisdom from some of China’s greatest philosophic contributions -- Lao Tzu, Confucius, and Zen. The Indian Tradition: Study the most fundamental and significant areas of Classical Yoga: the Patanjalim Yoga Sutras, The 8 Limbs of Ashtanga Yoga, Buddhist History and Theory, and the Bhagavad Gita.
The Modern Perspective: Understand how today's society is influencing yoga and, more importantly, what yoga can offer to the world of today.

The Yoga Tradition
Learn a timetable of historical yoga events from ancient to modern times. We will work with and discuss the basic theories of India's "Science of Life". Get acquainted with the script, pronunciation and writing, as well as simple words and posture names from Sanskrit.
Kirtan Chanting, Mantras, and Bhakti Yoga - The devotional area of Yoga that allows us to open our hearts towards our own personal connection to the divine by means of chanting and music.
Hand Mudras and Japa Mala practice - traditional practices with beads and our hands to experience a unique aspect of Bhakti Yoga.
