Yin and Yang constitute an integral part of yoga, balancing the body and mind between passive or active asana for health and well-being.
Yin (passive) yoga uses static asana and meditation to create more elasticity in the body's tough connective tissue. Yang (active) yoga incorporates a flowing sequence of poses balancing movement, circulation, and muscular activation and contraction. Joining the two styles in one practice works to unify the yin/yang or passive/active nature of both body & mind - thus, cultivating the experience of wholeness in body & practice.
