About the Workshop
Session I: Celebrating your Practice
16 August (Fri)
7:00pm - 9:30pm

Reconnect with your inner wonder-filled yogi and reignite your passion for life! Practise moving with compassion and patience, rather than in habitual "stuck" patterns that have you striving for the next level in your practice. Learn to rejoice in where you are in each and every moment with the nourishment and fulfillment of each breath!

In this workshop you will:
• Warm the body with strengthening core work.
• Sweat out toxins with a playful flow that incorporates challenging arm balances.
• Energise your spirit with this soulful and uplifting workshop that will have you inspired the moment you step onto your mat.

100% asana practice
Props: Yoga mat, a hand towel, a block, an extra mat, and a strap.

Session II: Practising Gratitude
17 August (Sat)
10:00am - 12:30pm

Open yourself to a life of grace! Explore the transformative emotion of gratitude and how it can help break the tendency to focus on what is "wrong" - with our body, our lives and our world. Learn to use this powerful practice to manage feelings of worry, anxiety and depression.

In this workshop you will:
• Utilise deep hip releases to detoxify the mindbody of negative emotions that keep us from fully experiencing joy.
• Discover heart opening backbends to feel where joy and gratitude reside in our body.
• Explore inversions to tap into our spirits' sense of playfulness.

At the end of this workshop, you will have a platform on which to explore mindful appreciation, helping you to connect to the abundance that is available in your life, your relationships, and your world.

2 hours of asana practice & 30 minutes of journaling & sharing

Session III: Developing Loving Kindness: Exploring Hips, Shoulders, & Neck
17 August (Sat)
2:00pm - 4:30pm

What better way to practise loving kindness than on our mat, with all of our injuries, inflexibility and imperfections? Discover freedom in your practice by learning how to cultivate loving kindness (and a sense of humour!) with some of the most difficult "spots" to reach: the hips, shoulders and neck.

In this workshop you will:
• Cultivate strength in your hips, neck and shoulders.
• Employ intensely focused pranayama and asana to safely unwind these habitual tight spots.
• Strengthen and lengthen the muscles around these joints, helping you walk through life with more grace and freedom.

At the end of this workshop, you will be prepared to bring the practice of loving kindness from your mat to your community with each conscious breath.

Session IV: Practising Forgiveness: Opening Your Heart with Backbends
18 August (Sun)
10:00am - 12:30pm

What can our pain teach us? Among many things, our pain can teach us that the path to peace begins with practising forgiveness. In this workshop, we will connect with our emotional and physical pain to learn how letting go of resentment and practising forgiveness - first with ourselves - can bring healing to our body, mind and spirit.

In this workshop you will:
• Explore pranayama, then move from mild into more intense backbends.
• Practise removing the emotional shielding from your heart so it can truly and honestly feel each new experience.
• Build skills in accessing, cleansing and resolving emotional issues to move them out of cell tissues to free your heart.

At the end of this workshop, your heart and spirit will feel more resilient, flexible and adept at surfing emotional waves - making room for seeing and absorbing the beauty and sweetness in our world.

2 hours of asana practice & 30 minutes of journaling & sharing.

Session V: Journey to the Core
18 August (Sun)
2:00pm - 4:30pm

Applying Forrest Yoga principles, we will take a physical and mental journey deep into the core of your own being, where you'll create a heightened sense of awareness through breath and asanas. Open to the amazing quality of feeling that lives inside as you sweat, breathe, and enter into the incredible mystery that is your core. We will explore Forrest Yoga - basic moves, strong abdominal exercises as well as standing pose sequences and arm balances.

About Pete Guinosso
After thirty years of running, cycling, and competitive sports, Pete was astonished to learn that his biggest challenge and adventure would happen on a yoga mat. Within six months of practising yoga consistently, not only did Pete feel stronger and more flexible, but he also began to realise the deeper benefits of meditative movement. Known for his joyful energy, compassionate guidance, and sense of humour, Pete creates a spiritual yet light-hearted environment for his students to uncover the deeper benefits of yoga.

Pete's teaching style is best described as a Forrest Yoga Inspired Vinyasa Flow. His classes are designed to help you journey toward connecting your mind, body and spirit through breath work and awareness. Powerful sequences are designed to create a fluid practice of meditative movement, while also cultivating an awareness of alignment. Pete is the creator of Lighting The Path teacher training (Yoga Alliance registered 200hrs) and travels internationally teaching workshops, conferences, and adventure yoga retreats.
