A mantra is a combination of sounds, words or phrases that create spiritual, psychic, and physical effects. With mantras, you can experience the power of sound directly. Mantras function by stimulating various chakras - spiritual senses found latent in every person. Each combination of sounds stimulates a different set of chakras and produces a different spiritual effect. Mantras can enable you to see and hear things beyond the physical world, remember dreams and silence the mind.

The practice of mantras can change your experience of life, filling each day with spiritual and creative energy. A mantra can make the impossible possible.

This first series of The Mantras of Kundalini Yoga - including Ek Ong Car, Har and Ram Das below - focuses on achieving a healthy, happy and wealthy life. These three mantra sets are grouped to give you the opportunity to grow mentally, physically and spiritually. They will help you to achieve your highest potential and to become who you really are, which is already perfect.

The second series of The Mantras of Kundalini Yoga - Sa Ta Na Ma and Sat Kar below - focuses on balancing your whole body so that you are open to the integration of Body, Mind and Spirit. It will prepare you to receive the benefits of life and help you recognise the greatness of Life.

The third series of The Mantras of Kundalini Yoga - Sat Nam and Wahe Guru below - helps to develop a neutral mind and welcomes your intuitive powers, leaving you to say goodbye to your self-destruction - Hello Radiance! You will be able to relax in the flow of a greatly expanded energy that these two sets will give you, so just enjoy.

Schedule and Description
Singapore - Ngee Ann City
9-11 April, weekend

Hong Kong - Tsim Sha Tsui
12-15 April, evenings

The First Series
Session 1: Be Happy - EK ONG CAR
SG - Friday 9 April, 6:30pm - 8:00pm
HK - Monday 12 April, 6:30pm - 8:00pm

EK ONG KAR, otherwise known as the long chant or morning call, means the Creator of ALL is ONE, truth is his name.
This mantra initiates the Kundalini energy and it aligns all the chakras, the energy points and senses in the body. It can be chanted at any time, even though it is best done between 4-7am as part of the morning prayer, or Sadhana.
EK ONG KAR opens the solar plexus and will charge the solar centres. You will be connected with the cosmic energy and become one with the divine. Chanting this mantra will liberate you from the cycle of time and karma. It will awaken the divine within. It's like a key, which has the 'code' for direct contact with the Creator.

Session 2: Achieve Wealth - HAR
SG - Saturday 10 April, 10:30am - 12:00pm
HK - Tuesday 13 April, 6:30pm - 8:00pm

The mantra HAR activates the creative force within you to manifest Abundance and Prosperity.
HAR is the original force of creativity and breaks down the barriers of the past. It removes fear of not having enough and gives you confidence to believe in abundance. It uses the reserve energy of the Navel Point in order to manifest Prosperity.
It allows you to use the neutral mind and provides guidance through any blockage and removes anxiety of money issues.

Session 3: Heal Yourself - RAM DAS
SG - Saturday 10 April, 1:30pm - 3:00pm
HK - Tuesday 13 April, 8:30pm - 10:00pm

The Miracle Mantra of Ram Das Guru tunes us into the attitude of selfless service, which arises from the neutral mind.
Guru RAM DAS is the fourth guru responsible for healing and opening the heart. Chanting this mantra will give us tools to handle everyday challenges with ease, open heart and attitude of joy.
This mantra is called miracle mantra, not because it creates miracles, but because it reveals miracles that already exist. Realising the gifts that are there gives you prosperity. This mantra will reveal the healing potential your body has.

The Second Series
Session 4: Balance the Hormones - Sa Ta Na Ma
SG - Saturday 10 April, 3:30pm - 5:00pm
HK - Wednesday 14 April, 6:30pm - 8:00pm

This mantra represents the cycle of recreation - the cycle of living and dying.
We come from infinity, make the journey through life, death, re-birth and back to infinity. Chanting Sa Ta Na Ma will help balance your hormones, the magnesium and potassium levels in our body.
The exercises related to this mantra help release the tension in the ovaries and enhances circulation to the pelvic region. It is also an excellent set for men as it balances the sexual energy and helps the prostate.

Session 5: Accept Love - Sat Kar Tar
SG - Sunday 11 April, 10:30am - 12:00pm
HK - Wednesday 14 April, 8:30pm - 10:00pm

The Mantra Sat Kar Tar opens the heart and helps to bring unconditional love into our lives.
When your energy flows through the heart centre, it becomes fully open and only then true love is possible.
Chanting Sat Kar Tar will increase your inner confidence and self-appreciation, leading you to attract more happiness and love from others. It will help remove barriers, which we often create around our hearts in the early stages of our lives. Once these barriers are gone we are ready to receive and give LOVE fully.

The Third Series
Session 6: Energise - Sat Nam
SG - Sunday 11 April, 1:30pm - 3:00pm
HK - Thursday 15 April, 6:30pm - 8:00pm

Sat Nam, the most widely used mantra in Kundalini Yoga, means TRUTH is my name. It is the seed mantra. All the knowledge of the fully grown tree is contained within the seed.
Chanting Sat Nam awakens the soul and helps to fulfil your destiny. It balances the elements, merging the individual soul with the universal soul, the non-self with the Self.
Sat Nam is often used to tune out at the end of a class, so that we stay with its positive vibration throughout the day.

Session 7: Peace & Freedom - Wahe Guru
SG - Sunday 11 April, 3:30pm - 5:00pm
HK - Thursday 15 April, 8:30pm - 10:00pm

This mantra expresses the wonder, the bliss, the ecstasy of creation. It will clear any obstacles and bring you JOY.
WAHE is the ultimate wisdom, GURU is the teacher within, JIO is the celebration of our soul when in union with infinity.
The Wahe Guru Mantra calms the stress and intensity of everyday life. It balances our energies and helps us make that journey from Darkness into Light.

About Maya Fiennes
Macedonian born Maya has combined her talents as a pianist and performer with her upbeat personality to create a unique style of yoga and meditation for modern living - based on Kundalini Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan who established 3HO Foundation in 1969. Maya's philosophy of good health and living with inner peace and confidence has made her one of the most in-demand yoga instructors in London. Her classes are fun, uplifting and above all, inspirational.

Maya came to England in the early 1990s to complete her training as a classical pianist and was dazzling audiences as diverse as The United Nations Assembly and members of the Royal Family with her virtuosity. In 1995, she released her debut album 'Cross of Silence' to critical acclaim, described by Q-Magazine as "The point where ambient, dance, world and classical music all meet, at the crossroads of quiet dignity and power".

Having practised all kinds of yoga for years, Maya decided in 2003-04 to train to be a Kundalini Teacher. She studied under Shiv Charan Singh at the Karam Kriya School in London. The name given to Maya at the naming ceremony is Har Bhajan, which means 'praise the name of God, Divinity & Infinity through Sound and Mantra'. Maya therefore feels destined to teach Kundalini and uses her original music in her classes.

In the last couple of years Maya has grown her yoga activities across various media - launching a DVD in 2007, completing a TV production Maya and the 7 Chakras through Kundalini Yoga in June 2008, creating the DVD box set A Journey Through the Chakras - The Base Chakras in August 2008. Maya is also working on her first book.

This year Maya's workshops, retreats and tour destinations include Bali, Beijing, Singapore, Hong Kong, Nicaragua, Antigua, Los Angeles and London.
