12-Day Teacher Training - Part 2 with Andrey Lappa
®Universal Yoga In-depth Study and All Levels Practical Classes 100-hr Yoga Alliance Certified Programme Ngee Ann City, 31 October - 11 November 2009

The Part 2 Universal Yoga Studies intensive will focus on different aspects of Universal Yoga with practices that challenge experienced students, yet are accessible to all levels of practitioners. Each morning, experience challenging multi-dimensional sequences to support your capacity towards development and other types of tantric and partner practices. Afternoon sessions include theory and discussion, followed by 45 minutes of the Shiva Nata (Dance of Shiva). The Shiva Nata is an ancient practice re-discovered by Andrey in Nepal and introduced into the modern world. The movements of the Dance of Shiva form the basis of almost all the south Asian martial arts and dance forms.
Through daily yoga asana classes, Dance of Shiva practice and lectures, we will explore a variety of yogic concepts and methods to create a new approach to this ancient practice. Students will be challenged to explore & expand upon their personal yoga practice and will be encouraged to develop creative, conscious & intelligent teaching techniques.
A Part 2 exam will be conducted, and certification to teach Universal Yoga will be given to those who pass the exam. Part 2 certification of participation will also be given upon 100% attendance.
Approved certification from Yoga Alliance at the 200-hour level will be given upon completion of Parts 1 and 2.
Universal Yoga
®Universal Yoga was founded by Andrey Lappa and is a logical, multi-faceted system that can be used by anyone living in the modern world. Regardless of your level of asana practice, this system provides all the techniques for the attainment of high spiritual aspirations & excellent physical health.
Morning Intensive Practice
The morning intensives are where Universal Yoga techniques are learned, skills are sharpened and the fire of transformation is fuelled. These are open to students who desire a life-affirming shift, but are not participating in the full programme. The commitment to practise with the same group of yogi's over an extended period of time has enormous power in it. Includes asanas, vinyasas, in-depth study of basic pranayamas, mantras and deep meditation. Suitable for students, teachers, former trainees and those wishing to obtain Universal Yoga certification.

| About Andrey Lappa |
|---|
Andrey began to teach yoga professionally in 1987, and in 1991 his qualification was confirmed with a certificate from the Indian Embassy in Moscow, authorising him to teach yoga as a profession in the former USSR. In 1994 the Ambassador of India in Ukraine rewarded Andrey with an opportunity to study at the Yoga Institute with world famous teacher B.K.S.Iyengar. That was his first visit to India, but Andrey subsequently travelled, studied and lived in India, Nepal, Tibet, China for extended periods of time. He continued to develop his own yoga practice, studying with B.K.S. Iyengar in Puna and Yogacharia Rudra at Sivananda Ashram in Rishekesh in the Himalayas foothills.
Amongst Andrey's many other achievements and experiences - he was the first Russian speaking student to study with renowned yoga teacher Sri K. Patthabi Jois of Mysore; he personally visited His Holiness Dalai Lama at his Dharamsala residence where he received his blessing; he practised various types of meditation and took part in an initiation ritual at Osho ashram with Bhagavan Sri Rajnish - where he was named Chetan Uttsarga -"Gifted with Consciousness"; he trained in the ancient Indian martial art - Kalaripayatu in Trivendram and also ancient styles of Indian dance - Bharata Natiam and Odissy with two of the best Indian masters, Guru Nath Jena and Pratibha Nath Jena, as well as the art of Zyong-Shin (Vietnamese yoga) and Viet-Vo-Dao.
During his many travels, Andrey took the opportunity to study not only with famous yogis but also with lesser known, yet sometimes more authoritative and irreproachable teachers and sadhus, expanding and extending knowledge about the practice and spirituality of the Yoga Tradition.
Since 1999, Andrey has been the president of Kiev's Yoga Federation. Possessing many key principles and a deep understanding of yoga technology essence, Andrey uses a wide variety of the most effective methods and yoga styles in his practice and teaching, and this has led to students developing superb abilities, consciousness and freedom from spiritual dependence.
