Having started classical ballet at the age of 4, Theresa has always been passionate about physical activities that enable expression. While continuing ballet into her teens and early 20s, she also took up modern dance, jazz ballet and hip-hop.
Born in Singapore to a Singaporean mother and a Dutch father, Theresa returned to Singapore in 2007 to explore new opportunities after living in Europe for 14 years. As a hobby, she revisited her passion and interest in physical movement by continuing classical ballet, but she also also partaking in activities such as: martial arts, diving, triathlons and yoga.
In 2009, Theresa's interest in yoga grew to new heights. She decided to take a yoga instructor course, eventually receiving a Yoga Instructor Certificate from the Swami Vivekananda yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (sVyasa) Yoga University of Bangalore, India.
After spending 8 years in film and media, Theresa decided to leave the industry to teach yoga full-time. Yoga has not only become a means of expression or release… it has become her way of life.
