Class Descriptions
| Ashtanga Vinyasa |
| The Primary Series of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is called Yoga Chikitsa (meaning yoga therapy). It re-aligns the spine, detoxifies the body, and builds strength, flexibility and stamina. Not for beginners. |
| Balance |
| Balance is a mixed level practice, focused on creating symmetry throughout the body by training you to be strong, flexible and balanced. It also finds equilibrium between the urge to push, control and be assertive with the impulse to yield, submit and be passive. This class includes asana practice, concentration, and meditation techniques. Suitable for intermediate and experienced practitioners. |
| Bollywood Dance |
Bollywood is the informal name given to the popular Mumbai-based Hindi language film industry in India. It is at the root of every great Indian cinematic production. Over the years, the scale and diversity of these films have increased unanimously. Today, Bollywood films are not only adored in India, but they are renowned and sought after all over the world.
Bollywood dance is a vibrant and entertaining dance that focuses on technique, fitness and flexibility. It embraces various dance styles from Indian classical to Indian folk and even draws on Western genres. |

| Bollywood is India's coolest, funkiest, most popular genre of music, derived mostly from the flamboyant Indian films – while Fusion is the free style of choreography for these fun-filled songs. And so, Bollywood Fusion is born! It's Fusion because the dance has elements of both Indian and Western moves. Level 1 is for all, even absolute beginners. Level 2 is more challenging, so it's recommended for those who have attended at least 10 classes of Level 1. |

| Chakra Cleansing |
A hatha based asana/ pranayama practice, combined with Mind Sounds Resonance technique, to stimulate, balance, and detox the bodies’ subtle energy channels (nadis/ chakras). The goal of this practice is to have a positive effect on the practitioners internal organs, endocrine, and nervous systems, promoting overall health and wellbeing.
This class is suitable for all levels of practitioners.

| Classical Kundalini |
| A traditional hatha practice with the soul focus of raising the Kundalini Shakti (universal energy) from the base of the spine, up through the Chakras (energy centers) along the central energetic channel (Sasumna Nadi). This class utilizes Mantra (chanting), Yantra (Visualization), Pranayama (breath techniques) Asana (physical postures) and meditation to faciltate the Kundalini awakening of the individual. It is a deeper and more subtle form of yoga and should be practiced by mature practisioners with prior yogic experience. |
| Core |
This class is designed to wake up and bring life to the core! Abdominal postures and breathing techniques are incorporated into the class to strengthen the connection between the upper and lower body. Ideal for intermediate to advanced students who want to delve deeper into a healing yoga practice. *This class is not for beginners or pregnant women. |
| Dance Basics |
| Get back to the basics in this class comprised of cool yet simple choreography for Bollywood music. A wonderful entry point for beginners in this style of dance and excellent for establishing a solid foundation in footwork, alignment, rhythm, body expression, and choreography. More than just an exhilarating workout to tone your physique, it’s an all-out session of fun! |
| Detox Flow |
| Dynamic fluid movement linking yoga postures with an emphasis on stimulating the digestive system - this class is practised in a heated room and is suitable for all levels. |
| Dharma Yoga |
| This mixed-level class is open to any level of practitioner. Directions are given to each student according to his or her capacity, with personal corrections offered when needed. Students are recommended to practice at their own pace, slowly working with variations independently within the flow of the Shiva Namaskar Vinyasa. Beginner to advanced. |
| Energize |
| Energize is a mixed level vinyasa class using a specific combination of asana, pranayama, and mudras to leave you feeling invigorated. Three types of strength training are used to burn calories & excess body fat, as well as tone and shape the physical body. Not for beginners. |
| Foundation |
| An introduction to the fundamentals of yoga with explanation of theory, postural alignments, and proper breathing techniques. Class is conducted in a relaxed environment where students are encouraged to ask questions during the class. Suitable for all; ideal for beginners. |
| Freestyle Dance |
| Evolving from the disco era to the modern mainstream, this dance focuses on choreography that is often expressed in today's pop music dance culture. It's a stylish, rhythmic, energetic experience, as well as an excellent cardio workout! The steps are easy to follow and shed light on current dance styles, fusing moves from modern jazz and hip hop. |
| Gentle Flow |
| A gentle, flowing practice. Slow, restorative and breath-based. Prior yoga experience recommended. |
| Hatha 1 |
| A basic class that combines the fundamentals of yoga – physical poses and breath. A slow and steady practice to strengthen the body and ease the mind. Ideal for beginners |
| Hatha 2 |
| Intermediate level class. Building on the basic postures introduced in Hatha 1. Excellent conditioning for the body, breath and mind. A regular Hatha 1 practice is recommended prior to attending this class. Not for beginners. |
| Hatha 3 |
| An advanced level Hatha class that takes you beyond the Hatha 2 intermediate postures. Students will be challenged with advanced twists, inversions, backbends and arm balances to increase internal strength and create deeper openings in the body. |
| Hatha Mixed |
| A mixed level Hatha practice. The Mixed-Level class is for any student who has prior yoga experience.

| Hot Classic |
| The in-class temperature may be as high as 41ºC. In this hot and steamy environment, students perform a set sequence of static poses designed to strengthen & stretch the body, providing deep healing from the inside out. Ideal for beginners. |
| Hot Classic (silent) |
| This class is designed for students with hot classic yoga experience. Follow the Yogi as the teacher silently leads the class through a sequence of postures.
Not for beginners.

| Hot Hatha 1 |
| A standard Hatha class taught in a heated room. Excellent conditioning for the body, breath, and mind. Ideal for beginners. |
| Hot Hatha 2 |
| Intermediate level class. Building on the basic postures introduced in Hot Hatha 1. Excellent conditioning for the body, breath and mind. A regular Hot Hatha 1 practice is recommended prior to attending this class. Not for beginners. |
| Hot Hatha Mixed |
| A mixed level Hot Hatha practice. The Mixed-Level class is for any student who has prior yoga experience. |
| Hot Vinyasa 1 |
| This is a Vinyasa class taught in a heated room. The heat will provide for a detoxifying sweat while you flow through a dynamic sequence of postures following your breath. Yoga experience and knowledge of basic postures is recommended. |
| Hot Vinyasa 2 |
| This is an intermediate vinyasa class taught in a heated room. The heat will provide for a detoxifying sweat while you flow through a dynamic sequence of postures following your breath. A regular Hot Flow practice is recommended prior to attending this class. Not for beginners. |
| Hot Vinyasa Mixed |
| A mixed level Hot Vinyasa practice. The Mixed-Level class is for any student who has prior yoga experience. |
| Indian Dance |
| One-hour class with Semi-Classical choreography that is graceful, animated and artistic. This type of dance involves lots of hand gestures, eye and neck movements, which helps to improve co-ordination. |
| Locks & Binds |
| Locks & Binds is a mixed level hatha based class, focusing on redirecting pranic energy for overall health and wellbeing. This practice utilizes various arm and leg locks and binds to increase flexibility, stimulate the nervous & digestive system, as well as release physical & mental tensions. Not for beginners. |
| Off The Wall |
| Asanas are practised next to the wall with props such as blocks, a rope and a pillow. By using the wall as resistance, we can learn how to use our muscular energy correctly and adjust our posture alignment accordingly. This class is great for anyone who wants to improve their flexibility and strength with good alignment. All levels. |
| Partner Yoga |
| With a partner, you can learn how to practice postures in a whole new way! Join this class and have fun learning about your own practice by helping someone else with theirs! Partner Yoga is fun and designed for students with at least one year's experience. Class will include backbends, inversions, and balancing poses. Bring a friend... or meet one in class! |
| Power 1 |
| A powerful and energising class that incorporate Sun Salutations and challenging poses to elevate the heart rate and create strength in the body. Knowledge of basic postures and some experience in yoga is recommended |
| Power 2 |
| An intermediate level sequence of power yoga postures. This class introduces deeper postures, balancing postures, and inverted poses. A regular Power 1 practice is recommended prior to attending this class. Not for beginners. |
| Power Mixed |
| A mixed level Power practice. The Mixed-Level class is for any student who has prior yoga experience. |
| Power Yoga |
| A mixed level Vinyasa class with more of an emphasis on strengthening. Yoga experience and knowledge of basic postures is recommended. |
| Pranayama and Meditation |
| This special class introduces students to the deeper practices of pranayama (breath control) and meditation. Open to all yogis - all levels. |
| Pre-Natal |
| This class is designed to meet the needs of pregnancy and new beginnings of motherhood. Come strengthen and relax your body, ease your mind and connect with your baby in a safe and supportive environment. Feel inspired and nourished in a community of women sharing the experience of pregnancy and birth. |
| Pure Staff Training |
| Pure Staff Training - monthly internal workshop for Pure Yoga Teachers. Temporarily replaces existing classes on the regular schedule so all teachers can attend. |
| Raja Yoga |
| A mixed level asana practice, followed by pranayama breathing exercises & meditation - a full yogic practice. |
| Relaxation Yoga |
| Relaxation Yoga soothes the body and mind through a slow, gentle sequence of postures followed by Yogic breathing practice. This practice focuses less on stretching/alignment and concentrates more on guided relaxation. |
| Restorative |
| A deeply relaxing practice using yoga props such as belts, blocks, blankets, bolsters and chairs. Students can achieve the form of the yoga pose without exerting much muscular strength, which helps to soothe the nervous system. Ideal for alleviating the strains of a busy and stressful lifestyle.

| Roots of Yoga |
| Roots of Yoga is a monthly workshop aimed to build a solid foundation of practice, and expand the scope of yoga.
These workshops cover a mix of topics, sometimes going deeper into specific areas of yoga or introducing new yogic concepts that are outside of the regular schedule.
Open to all yogis - all levels.

| Satsang |
| (Sanskrit definition: sat = true, sanga = company) Satsang follows in the Jnana Yoga tradition, the yoga of knowledge. Satsang is a gathering of like minds, students & teachers, coming together to discuss all things Yoga. The gathering consists of listening to, talking about, and assimilating the depths of Yoga in all its many forms - including everything from ancient texts to the latest developments in quantum physics. During a satsang, participants are encouraged to ask questions, share their experiences, and delve into how yoga impacts life in the modern world. Satsangs may contain elements like lectures, films, meditations, pranayamas, and chants. It's a great opportunity to join and build the yoga community. All welcome! |
| Special Workshop |

| Sun Series |
| An invigorating vinyasa practice, moving through the traditional Sun Salutation series to awaken the body & mind. |
| Universal Mandala |
| A mixed level, full yogic practice for Universal Yoga. Combining static/dynamic asana practice for strength & stretch conditioning, mudras & pranayama for focus & energy control, full multi-directional sequencing for coordination and reaction training, as well as yantra visualization and japa mantra meditation for improved concentration. The Mixed-Level class is for any student who has prior yoga experience. |
| Universal Yoga |
| The Universal style of yoga (USY) is based on the knowledge of the human structure and universal rules of modifications of this structure. According to the traditional idea of yoga, a human being consists of seven bodies, called shells or maya koshas. These shells, or forms, are called organic, power, psychic, mental, spiritual, causal and absence of form -- or Formlessness. The goal of the USY is to achieve harmony and balance within each shell, between the shells, and between the human being and the outer world. To develop and refine these shells, USY uses a diversity of practical exercises. One may practise the exercises pertaining to each shell separately; however, to speed up the process, USY combines various elements of different exercises that create a simultaneous impact on several shells. |
| Upside Down 1 |
| Turn your world upside down! This workshop-based class helps students to explore and improve their inverted poses. The class introduces alignment and techniques for headstand, handstand, forearmstand and shoulderstand. A regular intermediate practice is recommended prior to attending this class. | Vinyasa 1 |
| Vinyasa translates as flow with breath. There are several traditions that loosely fit into the vinyasa category. Postures are linked in a flow and provide some aerobic components while improving strength and coordination. Yoga experience and knowledge of basic postures is recommended. |
| Vinyasa 2 |
| An intermediate level sequence of Vinyasa yoga postures. This class introduces deeper postures, balancing postures, and inverted poses. A regular Vinyasa 1 practice is recommended prior to attending this class. Not for beginners. |

| This class blends the elements of yin & hatha yoga. The class begins with basic asana to promote circulation (prana/energy), then shifts to deep, long, holding poses to affect the connective tissues of the body, and cultivate a peaceful and meditative mind. Ideal for all levels. |

| A class that emphasises relaxation using breath work and poses, helping to heal the injured and the tired body. Ideal for practitioners returning after an injury. |
