Michelle

Michelle has been studying yoga since 2001, and fitness and nutrition since 1996. She holds a BS in Exercise Science and a BA in Dance from the University of Iowa, plus 2 personal training certifications and 6 Fitness/Pilates & Yoga certifications under her belt. In 2001 Michelle moved to NYC to work for NBC Studios as their fitness specialist and celebrity trainer, also studying at New York University for her Doctrine in Physical Therapy and studying/teaching at various yoga studios in NYC. Michelle subsequently moved to Chicago to work as a Fitness/Pilates and Yoga Manager at a 4-star fitness facility, while continuing to study and teach at various yoga studios. From 2004-2006 Michelle completed 2 teacher training programmes with Rodney Yee, and other yoga intensives with John Friend, Duncan Wong (Yogic Arts), David Life (Jivamukti), and Jonny Kest (Power Yoga). She also studied yoga for a month in Chennai, India at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in February 2007 and spent a month in January 2008 at the Yoga Vidya Dham Ashram in Nasik, India obtaining her Advanced Hatha Yoga Teacher Training certificate from the lineage of Swami Satyananda.
Michelle's main goal is not just to teach students how to stand on their heads or how to wrap their legs behind their neck - she aims to bring forth heart-opening changes in people's bodies, minds and spirits in hopes that they will find more happiness, love and compassion in their lives, how they treat others and this earth.
