Day I: 10 August (Fri)
Dharma
What is right and what is wrong? How can we confront the dilemmas that life often presents to us? Well beyond the theoretical, this workshop explores the traditional wisdom on the topic of dharma, or ethics, and extracts valuable guidance for life. The theoretical understanding is then applied to one or more real-life examples.
• 7:00pm - 10:00pm
• 3 hours
• All Level
Day II: 11 August (Sat)
Encounters with the Goddess
What is the power of the feminine? What role does it play in yoga practice? How can we incorporate and assimilate dimensions of the feminine to enrich our life and our practice? In this hands-on, transformational workshop we will explore the sublime and inspiring images of the feminine present in the yoga tradition. Throughout history, these images have provided powerful and inspirational models for seekers and practitioners.
The workshop will combine inspiring presentations, engaging discussions, dynamic asana practice and meditation sessions, as well as other practices. Bridging a gap of centuries and continents, this workshop will be a fascinating exploration of several key archetypes, delving into the power of symbols, helping us uncover layers of meaning as well as applications to enrich our own modern lives. Our goal is to demystify, to inform and, above all, to inspire.
• 9:00am - 12:00pm & 1:30pm - 4:30pm
• 6 hours
• All Level
Day III: 12 August (Sun)
Shiva and Shakti
The male and female archetypes - these powerful images of yoga mythology offer insights, inspiration and guidance for the central goal of yoga: the expansion of our awareness.
In a lively and engaging format, this workshop seeks to ground these powerful archetypes through the use of traditional story-telling, asana practice, visualisations and meditations.

| About Carlos Pomeda |
|---|
Originally from Madrid, Spain, Carlos has been steeped in all aspects of the yoga tradition during his 36 years of practice and study. He spent 18 of those years as a monk of the Saraswati order - under the name Swami Gitananda - including 9 years at the Siddha Yoga ashram in India, studying and practising under Swami Muktananda and Gurumayi Chidvilasananda.
During this time he learned the various systems of Indian Philosophy and immersed himself in the practice of yoga, becoming one of the senior monks of the tradition and teaching meditation and philosophy to tens of thousands of students around the world. He combines this experience and traditional training with his academic background, which includes two master's degrees: one in Sanskrit, from U.C. Berkeley (where he has taught) and another one in Religious Studies, from U.C. Santa Barbara. He is currently working on his Ph.D. dissertation on the Krama school of Kashmiri Tantrism.
Carlos lives in Austin, Texas, and travels extensively around the world conducting a variety of retreats, courses, seminars, workshops and lectures on the Wisdom of Yoga and related subjects.
As a teacher, Carlos is renowned for the breadth of his knowledge and the clarity with which he conveys it. His great love of the Indian yoga traditions, his insight, his humour and his deep connection with his audiences give him the ability to transmit the deepest scriptural teachings in a way that is clear, meaningful and applicable. Studying with Carlos is an enjoyable and transformative experience.
