Yoga therapy is that facet of the ancient science of Yoga that focuses on health and wellness for all levels of students. Since all asanas will be sitting and lying-down postures, students won’t get tired and can sweat out toxins in the moderately hot temperature.

Jivamukti
Jivamukti: "Jiva" - individual soul; "Mukti" - liberation. The word Jivamukti is derived from the Sanskrit word Jivanmuktih ("liberation while living"). Jivamukti is a yoga method established by David Life and Sharon Gannon that aspires to greater peace, unity, environmental awareness and karma consciousness. Ahimsa, one of the five tenets of Jivamukti, encourages all to avoid harm and violence; it ultimately manifests the sacred notion of oneness in all beings. A Jivamukti yoga class is a physically vigorous and intellectually stimulating practice that combines chanting, asanas, breathing exercises, music, meditation, and devotional study through simple scriptural readings.

Wonderful for stress release, mental relaxation, creating peace and calm within, cultivating joy and bliss - and enjoying a rather different and fun night out!

Moon Day Practice
Traditionally, Ashtanga yoga practitioners are supposed to take rest from the vigorous vinyasa yoga practice during the new moon and full moon. It gives practitioners a day of rest and also a chance to practise letting go, even if that happens to be one's favourite activity of yoga asanas. During the new and full moon, the tides of rivers and oceans are affected drastically–and human beings are comprised of up to 60% water. It naturally follows that we are also somewhat affected by these moon cycles. On these days of rest, it is recommended that meditation and pranayama be practised. As such, Moon Day Mysore classes will be dedicated to restorative yoga and pranayama from 6:30-8am–self-practice guided by the teacher and followed by some chanting, Sanskrit, yoga sutras of Patanjali and occasional Bhajan/Kirtan. There will also be a discussion on Yoga Sutra Sadhanna (Practice) as explained by Patanjali in his now famous text.
