Ashly
|
Ashly saw her first experiences with yoga as just another 'exercise' to help alleviate stress from work. It wasn't until her chance encounter with Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga that she fully embarked on her infinite yoga journey. It propelled her to travel to Mysore, India with a knapsack and copy of Lonely Planet - something she never imagined she would attempt. Going alone to "dangerous, backwards and chaotic" India, Ashly was very pleasantly surprised to discover the local culture and the joy it brought her despite its sub-standard living conditions. She witnessed the poverty in Mysore and felt how the people lived freely even in the absence of material gratification.
After returning to Taipei, her experience in India became a constant pillar of strength and tranquility whenever she came across any difficulties. And she looked to her yoga practice for inspiration, especially when she found Anusara Yoga.
"Through yoga, I realised that life is God's blessing and that each day is a celebration of this blessing. I learned to live in humble contentment, face the future with optimism and give thanks to those who have helped or tested me with obstacles. Heartfelt gratitude to all my yoga teachers."
