Nora
|
Nora first started practising yoga as a way of getting herself back in shape. After a period of regular practice, she found that not only was she in better physical condition, but she had also become less irritable and anxious. She discovered that many ailments to which the human body is subject are caused by the emotions. As she began to feel better in herself, Nora embarked on a journey of exploration through the art of yoga.
Nora gradually progressed to more advanced yoga classes, eventually training as a yoga instructor. After attending a workshop in Taipei led by Sharon Gannon and David Life - the founders of Jivamukti Yoga - Nora travelled to New York to undergo training as a Jivamukti Yoga instructor; she realised which path she was meant to follow.
It is Nora's belief that whether practised indoors on the mat or outdoors in the open air, yoga links people together. It is an approach to life that encourages us to adopt an open-hearted attitude towards everyone and everything.
Nora says: "Jivamukti Yoga has taught me how to integrate ancient knowledge into a modern lifestyle. Taking as its foundations the principles of doing no harm to others and striving for peace, Jivamukti Yoga uses the recitation of Sanskrit chants, the practice of yoga postures, listening quietly to music, and meditation practice, to raise your self-awareness. I feel that I have a mission to show other people all the benefits that yoga has to offer. I am deeply grateful to my gurus Sharon Gannon and David Life for helping to remove the blinkers from my eyes. Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu."
