Pure Yoga Taipei – Pure Tower
26 May – 21 June 2008

The Foundation - a four-week, full-time course in Taipei, which will immerse students in the tradition of Anusara Yoga and help to develop the fundamental skills necessary to teach.

This comprehensive and life transformative programme will be led by Pure Yoga's Founding Teacher Patrick Creelman. Patrick is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (ERYT 200) with Yoga Alliance. Patrick brings his extensive background of Anusara Yoga training from John Friend, together with international teachers who will present on a wide variety of topics including Yoga Philosophy, Sanskrit and Ayurveda.

"The Foundation" is suitable for dedicated students and aspiring teachers. This programme is intended to accomplish the following main goals:
  • Offer a well-guided and strongly supported container for committed yoga students to deepen their yoga experience on every level: mind, body and spirit. We feel this is an investment in a better life.
  • Set a solid foundation for teaching beginner-level Hatha Yoga classes for new teachers
  • Take aspiring teachers to the next level.
  • Deepen their practice and understanding of yoga.
  • Develop the confidence and tools to begin teaching yoga.
Morning Intensives
The morning intensives are an integral part of the full 4-week course – where the techniques are learned, the skills are sharpened and the fire of transformation is fuelled. This part of the programme is open to a limited number of students who desire a life-affirming shift, but are not participating in the full Foundation Programme. The commitment to practise with the same group of yogis over an extended period of time has enormous power in it. The intensives run 7am-9am, Monday-Friday and will include asana, pranayama and meditation practices.

Mission Statement
We offer this training in an effort to grow our community of committed yoga practitioners, empowering those who demonstrate dedication to a personal practice, by sharing the knowledge, skills and tools we have learned so they too can start teaching yoga.

We intend to guide trainees toward a healthy self-confidence, while at the same time invoking in them a sense of humility and excitement, knowing that they are at the beginning of a long journey.

ABOUT YOGA ALLIANCE
Yoga Alliance

We are proud to announce that Pure Yoga is now officiallly a Yoga Alliance (YA) Registered School (RYS) 200. All Teacher Training Programmes conducted by Pure Yoga are Yoga Alliance certified.

For more information, please visit: http://www.yogaalliance.org/

Mission
Yoga Alliance’s mission is to lead the yoga community, set standards, foster integrity, provide resources, and uphold the teachings of yoga.

Yoga Alliance does not claim to "represent yoga" in the United States, but does represent its registrants and support all yoga teachers, whether or not registered with their organisation.

Activities
Yoga Alliance® is a non-profit, tax-exempt section 501(c)(3) organisation. They maintain a national Yoga Teachers' Registry to recognise and promote teachers with training that meets their standards. Teachers registered with them are authorised to use the initials "RYT®" (Registered Yoga Teacher) after their name, or the initials "E-RYTSM" (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) if they have significant teaching experience in addition to training. They issue registry marks (logos) for enrolled teachers to use in their resumes, advertising and business endeavours.

Yoga Alliance® also maintains a Registry of Yoga Schools to recognise yoga teacher training programmes of at least 200 or 500 hours. Registered schools are authorised to use the initials "RYS®" (Registered Yoga School) after their names, and receive certificates of registration as well as registry marks. Once a school is registered, all graduates of an RYS® are automatically eligible to register with them as RYT®s.

The Registries are advertised and promoted to (a) the general public, (b) organisations that employ yoga teachers (i.e. YMCA's, athletic clubs, Park & Recreation Departments, etc.), and (c) organisations that review yoga teachers' credentials (hospitals, health insurance companies, governmental organisations, etc.).
