Introduction
The Art of Teaching is a 20-day foundation in Hatha Yoga inspired (Dheesan Yoga) training. This course is the first step in equipping yourself with the essential knowledge of yogic traditions, the history of yoga and the know-how of designing a class and a sequence. It will open students to a greater depth in the spiritual and philosophical aspects of yoga, and in understanding their challenges in life, their practice and the path of growth. Through meditation, lectures and intensive daily practice, students will embrace yoga as a guide for living, and use this guide to deal with emotional and spiritual challenges within ourselves and others.
To become a teacher of oneself and others, one must develop a profound understanding of the principles of yoga: the design of sequences, yoga anatomy, alignment, modification of postures, levelling and dealing with injuries. Through partner work, group circles and teacher assistance, trainees will learn to access individuals’ needs and cope with student differences. In short, this course is the 101 of yoga teaching.
Students will have the chance to:
• Deepen their understanding of asanas, their variations and effects
• Learn to access, address and cater to individual needs
• Build a strong foundation of yogic philosophy
• Equip themselves with the essential knowledge and confidence to teach a beginner level Hatha class
This programme is open to:
• Students who want to go deeper in exploring the different domains of yoga – transform your practice to a higher level, in terms of • awareness, knowledge and intelligence.
• Aspiring yoga instructors – as the first step to equipping yourself with the essential knowledge of yogic traditions, the history of yoga • and the know-how of designing a class and a sequence.
The programme will be conducted in English with Chinese Translation.
Dheesan Yoga
Dheesan in Sanskrit means "to be granted with intelligence".
Dheesan Yoga is intense in its practice and designed to improve your flexibility, strength, endurance and most importantly, intelligence. The focus is not the postures but the steps towards them. A flow of sub-basic postures takes you to exhilarating advanced postures including intensive twists, backbends and inversions. Directed to think for each pose, you will progress to find your own way to the postures, from basic alignment to refinement.
Deep stretching exercises open up major joints and release accumulated tension in muscles and emotional blockage. The dynamic nature of this yoga will elevate your mood and refresh your mind.

Yoga Alliance Accredited School
Pure Yoga is a registered school with Yoga Alliance. Our teacher training programmes and teachers are internationally accredited, have exclusive recognition and qualify for the 200-hr Yoga Alliance Certification.
Yoga Alliance is an international governing board for yoga teachers and training programmes in the U.S and globally. Graduates of our programme are automatically eligible to register as a RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) with Yoga Alliance. Becoming a RYT means having a higher profile and gaining international recognition as a yoga teacher, attributes that many hiring studios look for.
*Registration at Yoga Alliance is a personal option and graduates will take their own steps in such application.
