About the Workshop

 

Session 1 – Beginners’ Introduction and practice (3.0 hr)

Session 2 – Maha Yoga Wheel Flow plus deep stretching (2.5 hr)

Session 3 – Maha Yoga Wheel Flow plus inversion wall practices (2.5 hr)

Session 1: Beginners’ Introduction and practice

4 March (Sat) 10:00am-1:00pm

 

In this 3-hr session, participants will be introduced step-by-step on how to use the Yoga Wheel in a safe way to practise back-bending, balancing, strengthening, stretching, hip opening; and how to improve the regular yoga practice by using the Yoga Wheel. A workshop menu will be provided with explanations on the following:

 

  • History of the Yoga Wheel
  • Types of Yoga Wheel and how to choose
  • The muscle groups targeted by the Yoga Wheel
  • The 4 x Dharma Yoga Wheel series and the varieties of Yoga Wheel postures

 

At the end of this session, participants will have a foundation of how to practise the Yoga Wheel safely, thus are eligible to participate the Maha Yoga Wheel flow in Session 2 or 3, or both.

 

Who should join this session?

This session is suitable for Yoga Wheel beginners with some yoga experience.

 

Session 2: Maha Yoga Wheel Flow plus deep stretching

4 March (Sat) 2:30pm-5:00pm

 

A 2.5-hr Yoga Wheel Flow practice including basic warm-up, Sun Salutation, warrior series, balancing poses, essential Yoga Wheel back-bending/rolling, and core strengthening. This session will end with a practice of deep stretching and hip opening, hence is good for the hip flexors lovers.

 

Who should join this session?

  1. Participants who have completed Session 1 of this workshop
  2. Graduates of the previous Dharma Yoga Wheel Workshop, Round 1 or Round 2
  3. Students who have taken more than 5 regular Yoga Wheel group classes

 

Session 3: Maha Yoga Wheel Flow plus inversion wall practices

5 March (Sun) 10:00am-12:30pm

 

A 2.5-hr Yoga Wheel Flow practice including basic warm-up, Sun Salutation, warrior series, balancing poses, essential Yoga Wheel back-bending/rolling, core strengthening, stretching and hip opening. This session will be similar to Session 2 but will end with a practice of headstand/forearm stand/handstand against the wall.

 

Who should join this session?

  1. Participants who have completed Session 1 of this workshop
  2. Graduates of the previous Dharma Yoga Wheel Workshop, Round 1 or Round 2
  3. Students who have taken more than 5 regular Yoga Wheel group classes
  4. Participants who are interested in practising inversion with the Yoga Wheel
