The Power of Alignment Part 2 with Joan Jolliffe

The human body is an intelligent system of muscles, bones and connective tissues working together instinctively to facilitate our daily movements. Our natural ability to connect becomes discorded ​due to stress, bad habits, incorrect posture. Many people ​continuously lose strength and ​constantly suffer from pain and stiffness​.

This workshop aims to rebuild inter-connectiveness and arouse consciousness through practi​sing various yoga postures ​that focus on the core and spine.

​Participants will be guided ​through fundamental to intermediate level postures according to alignment principles ​with the aim of improving strength and mobility of core and spine with integrity and stability. Students will develop an awareness of their own postures, enabling conscious self-correction in yoga practice.

Through the workshop, students will have a general understanding of human anatomy in the captioned areas. Students will review and practi​se asanas ​and decode the nuance of each pose according to individual body alignment. Participants will also learn drills for the continuation of their regular personal practice after the workshop.

我們日常活動由身體內的骨骼、肌肉、筋膜之間自然而精密的互動組成,足見人體構造充滿智慧。而現代人生活因各種原因包括壓力、不良習慣與姿勢等等引致失去力量,令身體欠零活,甚至帶來痛症。

這工作坊目的是通過練習各種針對核心及脊柱的瑜伽動作,引導學員重新建立身體內在的連繫及激活身體意識。

工作坊內,學員將循「順位體位法」方向去練習一系列由基礎至中階的瑜伽式子,以加強核心及脊柱的力量、活動性、穩定性及柔軟度,從而在建立瑜伽練習上,能作自我審視及覺察。

學員將於工作坊當中學習有關核心及脊柱之基本結構,練習各順位體位法的式子,就個別順位解構並探索各或子間的差別。學員更可學習到如何在工作坊過後,能繼續深入自我修練。

Session 1 : Integrity and ​Strength of Core

19 February (Sat) 10:00am – 1:00pm

A brief anatomy introduction of anterior, posterior, oblique core; diaphragm and pelvic floor; followed by a postural clinic and injury management of individual pose; and a full practice focusing on sequence of yoga poses in activation and relaxation of core. 

 

第一節:全方位核心力量

 

簡介基本人體結構:前核心肌肉、後核心肌肉、橫膈膜和骨盆底;指定順位體位法式子之仔細分析糾正及損傷後管理;體位法串流練習,以有效啟動及放鬆核心肌群。

 

 

Session2: Mobility and ​Stability of Spine

26 February ( Sat ) 10:00am – 1:00pm

A brief anatomy introduction followed by a postural clinic and injury management of selected poses; followed by a full practice focusing on sequence of yoga poses in spine mobility and stability.

第二節:脊柱之穩定性及靈活性

簡介基本人體結構;指定順位體位法式子之仔細分析糾正及損傷後管理;體位法串流練習,以增強脊柱隱定性及靈活性。
