Moving back to Singapore from Australia in 2011, June yearned for the tranquillity, peace and self-awareness from nature that Australia offered in abundance. What started out as just a form of exercise, yoga gave June a similar sense of peace and connection with the Self. What nature provided from without, yoga cultivated from within. Through her practice, she made the inward journey towards finding contentment in simplicity.
June's practice and teaching are very much influenced by her YTTC teacher Dr Venky, with whom she obtained her 200-hour Yoga Alliance Certification from in 2014. His approach to yoga is very much based on the physiological well-being of the body, prioritising alignment and safety over ego while still challenging the body to benefit from the practice. Her other biggest influence is Mother Nature herself, instilling a sense of ethereal harmony between the physical and spiritual practice of yoga. Nature never ceases to amaze her and to humble her, both in her practice and in her personal growth.
Over the years, June adopted and cultivated various yogic sensibilities that resonate with her mantra – simple happy life. Students can expect a mindful practice with focus on engagement and alignment. At the same time, she strives to instil a sense of self-love, groundedness and lightness for her students each time they step on the mat.
