Teachers > Eunice Yeo
Curiosity was what led Eunice to her first Bikram hot yoga class in 2012. As an active and high-energy individual who has trained in classical ballet, ballroom dancing, Muay Thai and field hockey, the intensity of hot yoga gave her the challenge that she was searching for at that time. She was instantly hooked on the afterglow of hot yoga and how it made her feel physically. Yoga also gave her the space to be there for herself and to be her authentic self, expressed through movement on the mat.
Due to her love for the Bikram hot yoga practice, Eunice travelled to Los Angeles in 2013 to embark on her first Yoga Teacher Training under Bikram Choudhury and several other senior teachers for 9 weeks. During those 9 weeks, she learnt how to be mentally strong and what “Nothing to gain, nothing to lose” truly means. After teaching Bikram hot yoga for a few months, she wanted to expand her yoga repertoire. So once again, curiosity struck, and she soon found herself participating in vinyasa flow classes at her local studio in Melbourne. Inspired by the creative flow sequences, she decided to take up another 200-hour YTT with Power Living Yoga Australia in Sydney. She had the privilege of training under Duncan Peak and the wonderful facilitators at PLAY. During the training, Eunice evolved her yoga teaching methodology as she aimed to infuse it with her fun and light-hearted personality. She also discovered what it means to completely surrender to the practice. In 2016, Eunice was given an opportunity to train at Vikasa Yoga Koh Samui under Kosta Miachin and simultaneously assist her partner in compiling the 200-hour YTT training manual for Vikasa. She completed her 500-hour YTT in June that year.
Eunice strongly believes in “giving your today’s best”. Her classes are fun, uplifting, challenging and empowering. She truly wants the best for every student and is there to support them through their yoga journey. Alignment and a strong foundation are the focus of her teaching. She encourages every practitioner to explore and play during their practice because “The journey of imperfections is simply perfect!”
