About the Workshop

Want to improve your asana practice, especially arm balances and inversion poses? Or are you also seeking to improve your postural or athletic performance? If so, a stronger core is what you need!

  

In this 2-part weekend workshop, you will learn through your yoga practice to tap into your core as the firm foundation of strength, stability, and balance. You will gain an understanding of your core and its components and learn the techniques to create space and strength, not only to improve your yoga practice, but also to improve the quality of your life.

   

Schedule & Description

Session 1: 15 February

9:00am to 12:00pm

Part 1: Your Core

  • Overview of your physical and energetic core, the anatomy and components
  • Tap into the breath in your energetic core
  • Asana practice to activate and ignite your physical core as the firm foundation of strength, stability, and balance
  • Improve postural and athletic performance from the asana practice


Part 2: Your Anterior Core

  • Tap into the strength and space in your abdominals and the illiopsoas muscles
  • Asana practice to strengthen and lengthen your anterior core muscles
  • Improved performance in your arm balances and inversions from a stronger anterior core

 
Session 2: 16 February

9:00am to 12:00pm

Part 1: Your Posterior Core

  • Tap into the strength and space in your back muscles
  • Asana practice to strengthen and lengthen your back muscles
  • Improved performance in backbends from a stronger posterior core


Part 2: Your Rotational Core

  • Tap into the strength and space in your rotational core muscles
  • Asana practice to strengthen and lengthen your rotational core muscles
  • Improved postural and athletic performance from a stronger rotational core

 
Each session is suitable for all levels and can be attended individually. 90% practice, 10% theory.
