About Brian Campbell

Brian is a Bodyworker, a Forrest Yoga Guardian Teacher, and a hands-on teacher of Anatomy and Myo-Fascial Release Massage. He is co-founder of YogaBodyworkers, has 19 years' experience doing pain-specific Structural Massage and 17 years of teaching Forrest Yoga in Los Angeles.

 

Brian’s magic is built upon a synergy of Forrest Yoga & Myo-Fascial Bodywork. His mission is to teach people worldwide how to use their hands to help relieve pain in others. Brian was a Head Teacher at the Shiatsu Massage School of California in Santa Monica from 2006-2014, teaching Anatomy & Physiology, Pain & Orthopedic Evaluation, Deep-Tissue Massage, and Advanced Myo-Fascial Anatomy & Treatment Courses.

 

In 2007, Ana Forrest asked Brian to become a Level 5 “Guardian Teacher”, the highest level of distinction in the Forrest Yoga system. As a Guardian, he has committed to mentoring new teachers and to carry on the Forrest Yoga legacy of healing to future generations. Brian is a highly passionate teacher known for his skilfulness in working with injuries and teaching students how to get out of pain and is currently teaching MyoFascial Bodywork, Hands-on Anatomy and Forrest Yoga trainings throughout the United States, Europe, & Asia.

 

Workshop Schedule & Description

Session 1

Yoga Bodyworkers: Helping the Office-Worker Body Type with Bodywork & Forrest Yoga

29 February (Saturday) 9:00am to 12:00pm

 

Most students practising Yoga have real-world jobs that keep them sitting in chairs for most of the day. The physical and mental stress from working in an office creates many symptoms that can be addressed with Bodywork and a specifically targeted Yoga practice.  

This workshop will teach you effective ways to use hands-on MyoFascial Release Bodywork techniques and Forrest Yoga to relieve the numerous complaints and ailments of the office-worker. 

 

Session 2

Yoga Bodyworkers: Relieving Plantar Fasciitis Foot Pain with Bodywork & Forrest Yoga

29 February (Saturday) 1:30pm to 4:30pm

 

Pain in the bottom of the foot is a common syndrome that effects both young and old. Nothing in the body exists in isolation and though the pain may be in the bottom foot, there are many forces throughout the body that compound this issue.  

This workshop is dedicated to understanding the many types of forces that contribute to plantar fascia pain and how to use effective hands-on MyoFascial Release Bodywork techniques and Forrest Yoga asana principles to address this recurrent problem.

 

Session 3

Yoga Bodyworkers: Releasing Neck Tension in Asana and Savasana

1 March (Sunday) 9:00am to 12:00pm

 

The neck is a portal into relaxation for the entire body. It is also one of the areas that holds the most tension. Neck tightness inhibits the body’s ability to fully let go and loosen up both mentally and physically. 

This workshop will teach you how to give and receive the best Savasana hands-on assist ever. You will also learn several methods of working with the neck in Yoga Asana and acquire skills in using therapeutic touch techniques from the modalities MyoFascial Release and CranioSacral bodywork.

 

Session 4

Yoga Bodyworkers: Yoga Bodyworkers: Balancing the Hip Flexors with Bodywork & Forrest Yoga

1 March (Sunday) 1:30pm to 4:30pm

 

Tight hip flexors are one of the most common tension zones in Yoga students. Chronically tensed hip flexors often lead to other issues such as low back pain, weak abdominals, overstretched hamstrings, even neck and shoulder issues.

This workshop is committed to balancing the hip flexors through hands-on MyoFascial Release Bodywork and subtle but crucial movements derived from Forrest Yoga Asana.
