About the Immersion

This 30-hour immersion is based on the popular Iyengar Yoga method, where its primary purpose is to holistically educate all practitioners about the yoga study and how one can practise to overcome various individual challenges relating to their body structure and occupation.
Since the most extensive part of Yoga is the practice of Asanas, this programme will also seek to explore self-awareness through the use of different Yoga props in Asana practice.

It is designed to help students progress by breaking down barriers of the body and mind that cause some practitioners to practise for years with stagnation. If you are looking to enhance and further your practice to the next level, this is the course for you.

  • Forward Bends (Understand surrendering quality in the practice and calm the mind)

  • Talk on Yoga Philosophy - Interactive session
  • Application of Yoga Practice in One’s Life
  • Understanding the different facets of breath, breathing techniques and practice of Pranayama
  • Q&A Session

Day 3: 14 August 2021 (Saturday)

  • Twists (Asana Practice) to release tension in the back, shoulders and neck, to increase strength and mobility of shoulders
  • Restorative Yoga - Asana Practice
  • Addressing individual concerns related to the practice of Yoga Asana
  • Practice of Pranayama

Day 4: 15 August 2021 (Sunday)

  • Inverted poses (Asana Practice) to experience inward journey
  • Restorative Yoga - Asana Practice
  • Talk on preventive measures for individual injuries

Day 5: 22 August 2021 (Sunday)

  • Backward extensions (To strengthen arms, shoulders and stretch abdominal muscles to release the back)
  • Understanding and Practising stretching poses
  • Pranayama Practice

*All Asana practice sessions will include 1 or 2 inverted poses like Sirsasana, Sarvangasana or Halasana. Options will be given to students who find them difficult.
