A 4-week Immersion with Sheryl Lim

About the Workshop 

This highly immersive workshop is designed for practitioners ready to get creative with their Pincha Mayurasana (Forearm Stand). Every week, we will go through one Pincha Mayurasana shape and entry to help you execute the variations offered in group classes. Expect to gain better body awareness, develop greater muscular control, and avoid common mistakes while entering the different Pincha Mayurasana shapes. 

  

Key Focus:

  • How to stabilise the shoulders in free-standing Pincha Mayurasana 
  • Drills to effectively get into and hold the different Pincha Mayurasana shape

 

Intensive Syllabus: 

    • Week 1: Kick up into Split Leg & Swastika Leg Pincha Mayurasana 
    • Week 2: Tuck jump into Tuck Pincha Mayurasana 
    • Week 3: Straddle jump into Straddle Pincha Mayurasana
    • Week 4: Pike jump into Classical Pincha Mayurasana (Straight Line) 

 

Sheryl has 3 years of experience teaching inversions. She has a systematic approach to tackling inversions and hopes to share her knowledge with you. Expect 8 hours of fun learning, experimenting, safely falling and getting up again together with other inversion addicts.  

Practitioners should be able to hold chest to wall Classical Pincha Mayurasana (straight line) for 30 seconds.

Week 1 - 4 May (Thursday) or 6 May (Saturday)

Kick Up into Split Leg & Swastika Leg Pincha Mayurasana

9:00am to 11:00am

  

You will learn: 

  • How to catch your balance when kicking up into Pincha Mayurasana 
  • Different entries to creating split leg and swastika leg Pincha Mayurasana 
  • How to execute active splits while upside down 
  • How to join your legs into Classical Pincha Mayurasana (straight line) 

 

Week 2 - 11 May (Thursday) or 13 May (Saturday)

Tuck Jump into Tuck Pincha Mayurasana

9:00am to 11:00am

  

You will learn: 

  • How to catch your balance when doing a tuck jump into Pincha Mayurasana 
  • How to find your balance point in a Tuck Pincha Mayurasana 
  • How to straighten into Classical Pincha Mayurasana (straight line) from Tuck Pincha Mayurasana 

 

Week 3 - 18 May (Thursday) or 20 May (Saturday)

Straddle Jump into Straddle Pincha Mayurasana
