Stretch Your Limits: A Flexibility Based Workshop with Daria Soloveychik

About the Workshop 

Flexibility is achievable for everyone! This weekend-long series is designed to increase your mobility and range of motion,and reduce tension across your body– especially important if your goal is to achieve new poses in your practice. Come experience full body and mind openness and move beyond boundaries in your yoga practice by stretching your limits.

 

Examples of poses to be covered:

Front split (Hanumanasana), Side split (Samakonasana), Lotus (Padmasana), Compass (Parivrtta Surya Yantrasana), Wheel (Urdhva Dhanurasana), King Dancer (Natarajasana).

 

Regardless of your aim, you'll learn to take your body anywhere you want to go! 

 

Each session focuses on a different area of the body and uses important elements of developing flexibility – dynamic stretching to build greater range of motion that allows you to ease into the poses/ positions. Daria will also cover a range of static stretching, commonly termed “yin-style holds” that will open your body even deeper and identify areas that require the most attention. This programme is filled with the flexibility movements and stretches that Daria uses on a regular basis. They've helped her to build and maintain mobility in the practice.

 

Schedule & Description

Session 1: Hip Opening

24 August (9:00am - 12:00pm)

Enhance hip flexibility and mobility to create greater range of motion. Find stability in your centre, allowing for more confident and supported movements in daily life and in your yoga practice.

 

Session 2: Shoulder Opening

24 August (1:00pm - 3:00pm)

Increase flexibility in shoulders and release tension in the upper body. Experience full range of motion in your shoulders, which will ultimately improve posture and help you to progress in backbends practice.

 

Session 3: Spine Opening

25 August (9:00am - 12:00pm)

Improve torso flexibility, enhance lung capacity, reduce tension by working deeper into the flexibility of the back, using spine-opening techniques to lengthen the entire spine.

 

Each session is suitable for all levels and can be attended individually; however, the programme is designed in a progressive manner for students to reach their full potential and it’s advisable that participants have some previous yoga experience. There may also be partner work during the sessions.

Refunds/Cancellation:    

  • Payment must be made 48 hours after registration, otherwise Pure Yoga reserves the right to release your mat to the next registrant waiting-in-line.
  • No refund or credit will be given for cancellation starting 7 August 2019.
  • All refunds are subject to a 10% processing fee that will be deducted from your refund.
  • Pure Yoga reserves the right to cancel the training as it sees fit, without any compensation made to the registrant other than refund of payment.
