Nada Shodhana Level II: 50-Hour Holistic & Indigenous Sound Healing Teacher Training (50小時二級音療教師培訓) By Bhanu Singh & Megan Wright

Weekends, 6 -21 July Asia Standard Tower – Central

Music and rhythm find their way into secret places of the soul - Plato.

In this Level II, 50-Hour Holistic & Indigenous Sound Healing Teacher Training, you will journey into deep meditative enquiry on the source of all sound.

With numerous new instruments and healing tools at your disposal, prepare to shift frequencies as you open more to the healing power of music and sound.

Nada Shodhana with Bhanu Singh and Megan Wright expands on the practice of sound healing introduced in the Level I course, Nada Chikitsa.

(See Nada Chikitsa | 50-Hour Sound Healing Teacher Training under Teacher Trainings for more info).

You will start with learning to use a range of healing instruments and elevate your Nada yoga practice beyond the Himalayan singing bowl. Explore the nature of crystal bowl therapy and tuning fork therapy, work with drums and the concept of rhythm and discover the Shamanic healing instruments, the Native American flute and the didgeridoo.

Later modules will reveal the ancient Indian healing instruments: the harmonium, shruti box and tanpura. The course will also invite you to explore the history of the ancient art of sound healing in India, the later development of classical Indian music, Indian musicology and music theory.

The Nada Shodhana programme integrates more complex yogic principles grounded in a deeper scientific understanding of sound.

You will learn the techniques of several ancient sound healing rituals and apply them creatively in sound healing sessions and yoga classes, you will build a multi-dimensional healing practice for yourself, your loved ones and your students and you will develop a sense of effective sonic sequencing, deepening your experience and offering as you begin to incorporate and blend a range of sounds into a harmonious soundscape.

Upon full completion of 50 hours of training, students will receive a certificate issued by the Himalayan Academy of Sound Healing in association with the Yoga Alliance. This course may be registered as a YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Credit).

BHANU SINGH

Bhanu comes from an interesting academic background. From a postgraduate degree in yogic science in Lonavala, and a Master’s degree in therapy in Bangalore, to continued studies at Yoga Vedanta Forest Academy, Bhanu continues to learn. He has an insatiable thirst for knowledge and he inspires this curiosity in the hearts and minds of his students. Bhanu moved from the foothills of the Himalayas to Rishikesh, on the banks of the Ganga River, to begin teaching yoga. His teachings focus predominantly on philosophy, sound and meditation.

Bhanu teaches yogic practices of authentic traditional Indian origins. After years of research into the field of sound healing, Bhanu started to work as a sound therapist with Tibetan singing bowls and other instruments.

He began by performing weekly sound healing concerts at a local ashram in Rishikesh. Each concert featured a combination of sound and vibrational tones, achieved with the use of Himalayan singing bowls, didgeridoos, gongs, binary beats, bells, chimes, sounds from nature, and experimental instruments that he himself made. As his concerts grew in popularity, his audiences grew in size.

Bhanu went on to develop a 3-day Himalayan Singing Bowl Workshop which he developed into a 50-Hour Teacher Training over time. It wasn’t long before he had developed level II and III courses for students who wanted to venture more deeply into sound as medicine. Like his concerts, his courses grew in popularity, attracting students from all over the world and The Himalayan Academy of Sound Healing was born.

Crystal Bowls (Heart Chakra Bowl / Third Eye Chakra Bowl)

Crystal singing bowls are a type of musical instrument that produces clear, harmonic sounds when struck or played with a mallet. They are made of pure quartz crystal and are specifically designed to create a healing and meditative atmosphere.

Tuning Forks

A tuning fork is a two-pronged, metallic tool that produces a constant pitch when struck against a surface. It is often used in music, science, and medicine to produce a specific frequency.

Shamanic Instruments

A shamanic drum is a sacred instrument used by shamans in various indigenous cultures for rituals, journeying, and spiritual practices. The drum is considered a powerful tool for healing and transformation in shamanic traditions.

Indian Classical Instruments

Rattlers and shakers are musical instruments that produce sound by shaking or rattling. They are typically handheld and can create a percussive or rhythmic sound when shaken or moved.

Rattlers typically contain small objects such as seeds, beads, or stones that rattle when the instrument is shaken.

Shruti box

A shruti box is a traditional Indian musical instrument used to provide a continuous drone for vocal or instrumental accompaniment. It consists of a wooden box with bellows attached to a set of reeds, which produce a constant sound when air is pumped through them. Shruti boxes are often used in Indian classical music, devotional singing, and meditation practices.
